Top 5 Mistakes That a New UPTET Teacher Should Avoid

Most students apply for teaching jobs since they match UPTET Eligibility Criteria. Apart from the eligibility thing, many other things you need to focus on before applying to this one of the ideal job posts. Teaching seems an easy-to-do job but it is not. If you want to start your career being a teacher then you need to understand different aspects of this job so that you could be turned into an ideal teacher indeed.

Your preparation for being a teacher should not end with submitting UPTET Application Fees and exam related preparation only. A teacher needs to work on his skills more and more. If you have passed the exam and are supposed to kick off your journey then you must not commit these mistakes as a new UPTET teacher at all. Let us check out what are those mistakes –

  1. Do Not Go With Wrong Facts and Knowledge Ever –

We are living in an age where students are quite smart. They always cross-check whatever has been taught them. A new teacher must not think that they could go with wrong facts or statics if they are not aware of that at that moment. Make sure that you always go with accurate facts.

Yes, you must be knowledgeable since you are in the teaching profession. Moreover, you should get incredible facts as well as figures if you are teaching tricky subjects such as science or math. Nothing is more essential than keeping your facts always right and accurate. If students notice that you do not give expert knowledge, chances are high that you are probably going to lose your trust indeed. Therefore, a teacher must work on his/her knowledge.

  1. Do Not Talk Too Much But Encourage Students To Get Involved More–

If you keep talking too much in your class while teaching, your class is going to lose interest in you as a teacher. Being a teacher, you need to understand that let students get involved in the activity more so that learning could become easier and interesting for them.

If you keep talking and do not encourage the students to take part, your class will not remain that interesting at all. A student-centered classroom looks completely different since students would be enjoying you.

  1. Underestimating Your Students –

Never underestimate your students. If you ever made a notion in your mind that your students are not able to contribute real ideas, your low expectations will start projecting in your work. Being a teacher, you would not be able to believe your students at all. You will start doubting your intelligence.

If you start giving importance to your students, you will start enjoying the entire teaching session indeed. Moreover, if a teacher does not believe his/her students, they will not believe themselves. You are a teacher and you need to infuse more confidence into them so that their incredible personality could develop in a great manner.

  1. Not Try To Make The Things Tricky and Complicated –

Students never love to get involved with things that are tricky or complicated. That is why you should try to make your course a bit easier so that your students could learn more about it. Students always enjoy learning a lot when they find things easier and interesting. To make any chapter or subject easier, you may go ahead with a different strategy such as preparing multiple-choice oriented questions, short questions, long questions, etc.

  1. Do Not Focus Only On The Syllabus –

Some teachers only go with the syllabus or coursebook. However, it is not ideal at all. What you can do is incredibly expand your syllabus. Let them introduce some new and amazing examples. Make your students get involved in outstanding activities. Make the entire learning way much interesting. If you keep your students aware of different things apart from the syllabus then you will be enjoying it the most.

These days, students want to learn more from their teachers instead of being stagnant to the typical syllabus. The best thing is that you will be having an incredible experience when you start delivering more knowledge and information to your students. It will take the energy level of the entire class to the next level.

In The Last –

Therefore, if you are going to kick off your career being a teacher, you must go ahead keeping these things in mind. You will be having an incredible experience indeed. Avoiding these mistakes can make you the most popular teacher in the school.
